Club level cricket doesn't demand fitness at the top level but for playing for any national team you must be one the best in the business.

Club level cricket is mainly played for fun and players try to relax and try to regain their fitness by playing this level whereas the best players in the nation get the opportunity to play for India.

Playing for India is a prestigious thing and it needs something special. Almost everyone in our country dreams of becaming a cricketer but doesn't have the luck or the talent.

The domestic competitions include the Ranji Trophy, the Duleep Trophy, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Deodhar Trophy, the Irani Trophy and the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy. In addition, the BCCI conducts the Indian Premier League, a Twenty20 competition, which is also one of the biggest sports leagues in the world and the biggest cricket league in the world. The Indian cricket team is also accredited with the honour of winning all the ICC tournaments under MS Dhoni's captaincy, which is a world record. While cricket is by far the most popular sport in the country, it is not the country's national sport.Following is the possible roadmap for players in India


1.Start playing for a local Club.

2.If picked up play for the Senior Clubs of the Capital city of your State.

3.If picked up play for your State Ranji Trophy Team

4.If picked up play for your Zonal Cricket Team in Duleep Trophy.

5.If selected play for India A team.

6.If selected play for an IPL Team /or may straight join the Indian Cricket Team.

National Cricket Team Selection

All the Nations who actively participate in cricket, have an A-Team along with its national team. To pay your way to the National Cricket Team of your country, it is necessary for you to first become a member of A-Team, however, it is not a mandatory step. The players who perform well at National level I usually given the chance to become a part of the A-Team. The A-Teams of all the nations compete with each other so that the potential cricketers get trained in tackling the foreign pitches. To fix your spot in the national team, one must work fingers to the bone.

Apart from exploring the option of being a player in the national team, you can also work in the franchise and become a part of leagues that are organised in various countries. Some of the prominent Cricket leagues which players go for are IPL India, County Cricket England, BBL Australia, etc. But, before becoming a part of one of these, do not forget to check the guidelines by BCCI if you are an Indian national.
